  • Safety & Security: To detect, prevent, and address fraud, security, and technical issues
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws and regulations

4. Location Data & GPS

Our Service collects precise geolocation data (latitude/longitude coordinates) for:

  • Finding nearby trips and users
  • Calculating distances between locations
  • Providing accurate pickup/dropoff information

You control location sharing: You can enable or disable location services at any time through your device settings. Location data is only collected when you actively use location-based features (creating trips, searching for rides).

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • Encryption: Data is encrypted both in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest in our Supabase database
  • Authentication: Secure email/password authentication with JWT tokens
  • Access Controls: Role-based access control and Row Level Security in our database
  • Regular Audits: Security practices are regularly reviewed and updated

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We work with the following service providers, who process your data only to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage

We may also disclose information to law enforcement or government agencies when required by law. Your profile information (username, public name or first name, rating, about me, photo) is visible to other users.

We do NOT sell your personal data, and we do NOT track you across other apps or websites or use your data for third-party advertising.

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate personal information
  • Deletion: Delete your account and personal data yourself, anytime from the app, as long as you have no outstanding blockers — for example active or pending trips or orders, or held/unsettled wallet funds. Once those are cleared, deletion proceeds and your data is handled as described in this Policy.
  • Opt-out: Disable notifications, location sharing, and other features

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@yayhop.com.
